Another September 2008 Baptism
Rayisa (second from the left) leads our daily prayer ministry and really
seems to be maturing. Since her conversion, in 1994, her ultimate dream was
for her mother to come to faith in Jesus Christ. But, since Mom lives all the
way over in Siberia, they rarely get the chance to see each other. By God's
providence, however, Rayisa's 83-year old mother, Afaneysia, unbeknowst to us,
had been planning to come to Odessa for what she was calling: "a farewell visit."
What Afaneysia didn't know was that, for nearly two whole months, KRCC had been
praying almost daily that Rayisa would get the chance to see Mom in the near
future for the purpose of seeing that dream come true. Well, obviously we're
delighted to tell you that, tonight, it finally did! Praise the Lord!
Here's Rayisa with her Mom, along with Rayisa's daughter, Nastya, on the far
right. On the far left is another girl named Nastya, who's a relative from
Siberia that still needs to accept the Lord. We certainly gave Nastya a lot to
think about this evening, so please also remember her in your prayers if you would.
