Odessa Mission
Late August Baptisms
I recently traveled to Sergeyevka to officially ordain Serge (on the far left) and set him apart for the ministry there. On the far right is Sasha, his wife, with their little daughter. I also went there to baptize four more people that Serge has been working with for quite some time now. Though the man with the cane is in his eighties, he had never before surrendered to Jesus until today. Standing between him and Sasha are three people in white, who were also baptized. Behind him are Lucy and Bogdan, who were immersed earlier in the month. They both chose to take off from work to come out and be a part of the celebration. And, if that weren't enough, Bogdan even announced his decision to enroll at the Bible institute where Oxonna is studying after he graduates from high school next year. The Odessa Mission hopes to raise enough money to at least cover his tuition costs. Finally, it appears as though there are actually two new churches that are forming instead of just one. There's one in Sergeyevka and another in Sofievka. Praise the Lord!
